But, speaking of lament . . .
After reading Shiver I had to have more of the author, so I took a trip to Barnes and Noble to purchase her Books of Faerie series. At present this series consists of Lament and Ballad.
As usual, I devoured both books. I liked Lament instantly, but it took a bit for Ballad to grow on me. The first book is told from Dierdre's point of view, while the second is told mostly by James's (her best friend). James is eccentric and sarcastic, thus his story is rougher than that of Dierdre. But I loved him after just a few chapters.
