It's not my usual paranormal romance. In fact, one of the reasons that I loved it so much was because of the true-life feeling that I got from it. It is a YA novel, but not exactly for the innocent. Elkeles reflects the way teens talk. And I like the way she incorporated Spanish words and phrases into the dialogue, just as true Mexicans do. The main characters are the "perfect" cheerleader and the Latin Blood gang member.
A great read! I devoured it in one day! (My house was in shambles, but I enjoyed every moment of it!)
