New Book Added to My List of Favorites

I found another great book . . . hush, hush by Becca Fitzpatrick.

Do you ever devour a book only to find that you are not yet ready to leave that world behind? That's one of the qualities that I would say characterizes a great book, for me. I start looking back at some of my favorite passages. I re-read the ending. Pretty soon I am re-reading the entire book. I get more out of it the second time through because I am not trying to figure out how it all turns out. I know the ending, and yet I STILL want to read it again. The details stand out during the second reading. Again, because I am not trying to hurry through to the end to see how everything will be resolved.

Only a few books have reached this level in my eyes. Looking around my blog, you'll easily figure out the titles I love.

So, yes, I read a lot of young adult fiction. My excuse? I'm a high school librarian who needs to be able to recommend books to students. My confession? I enjoy the quick reads, intriguing plots, and genuine, yet fairly innocent relationships. Many authors seem to think that when they write for a more mature audience they need to add sophistication to the writing, complication to the plot, and sex to the relationships. I'm not saying that I count out all adult fiction. I have my favorites there, too: Kat Richardson, Stephenie Meyer, Keri Arthur; but they are not as numerous, and are harder to find.

So, if you have a good "para-normal" novel you would like to recommend, let me know. I am always looking for a good book to sink my teeth into. And if you have a hankering for a good one for yourself, try hush, hush. But I will caution you that its sequel, Crescendo, will not be released until this fall.
